Neurofeedback is a non-invasive technique that can alleviate several distressing symptoms. Some common symptoms include difficulty with focus, sleep, emotion regulation, headaches, anxiety, and panic attacks. Neurofeedback is within the umbrella of Biofeedback.
Neurofeedback requires minimal effort on the client’s part and is great for people who are hesitant with talk therapy. We use electrodes with temporary gel to send low frequency signals to the brain. This acts as a mirror for the brain to learn where it needs to adjust. The brain will naturally work to improve itself and overall functioning as the client watches Netflix/Youtube. We call this “brain training” similar to exercising our muscles.
Neurofeedback is recommended at least 1x/week for 20 sessions. It is even more effective with 2x/week sessions. Most people see symptom relief between sessions and we adjust as needed. Neurofeedback is helpful to about 80% of people who try it. Any potential side effects are typically similar to previously experienced symptoms prior to treatment and are temporary.

I was trained in the Othmer Method of Neurofeedback in January 2024 by EEG Info in Los Angeles, CA. I consult regularly with EEG Info and am fascinated to see the technique help people across the globe.
I learned about Neurofeedback after experiencing frequent nightmares myself. After just a handful of sessions, my nightmares went away and I realized how much the treatment lowered my daily stress levels as well. Now, I don't want to go without it - so I got trained in it. I love being able to offer others the chance at relief that Neurofeedback gave me.
